About Steve
Steve Clymer is President and Founder of Accord ADR Group. He has established a first class reputation for his services as a mediator.
Mr. Clymer began his private law practice in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1983, taking on cases in a wide variety of disciplines, in order to build a broad foundation of legal experience. He relocated to Colorado in the late 1980s, and continued his law practice in Denver and Boulder. Steve was an early adopter of Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR"), adding mediation and arbitration services to his practice in 1994. Acknowledged for his skill as a mediator and arbitrator, his ADR work grew, and Mr. Clymer converted his law practice to a full-time ADR practice on January 1, 2000.
To date, Mr. Clymer has mediated well over 5,000 cases throughout the state of Colorado in a wide variety of subject matters. He is a Charter Member of the Colorado Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
Mr. Clymer has served as Adjunct Professor of Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado. He taught ADR and Negotiation courses at CU Law for several years beginning in 2004, and enjoyed bringing his experience into the law school classroom. He found this particularly gratifying since ADR courses were not offered when he was a law student.
Mr. Clymer is also a frequent CLE speaker and panelist. He served as Co-Chair of the Boulder County Bar Association's ADR Committee for several years, and was a Vice President of the Colorado Bar Association. He currently serves on the Professionalism Committee of the Boulder Bar. Steve is currently accepting mediations in all civil matters.
Steve enjoys spending his free time with his family, as well as playing music, traveling, running, and hiking (note the landscape photos on this website which Steve shot during his hikes).
